My best friend and I went for an amazing road trip between Portland and Seattle for spring break and I've been nostalgic about it ever since.
In the spirit of planning my next travel adventure I thought I would post some pics from my trip to New York at the beginning of the summer. Ten minutes into bikinis and chill and autumn is giving me the look. Happy October :) Anyone want to guess where I'll be headed next? (Pro-tip: its actually not somewhere warm!)
This past weekend I was able to visit a friend of mine who moved up to Milwaukee post-grad and she showed me around her new hood. The Milwaukee Museum of Art is a must see! It has the most amazing architecture, a wide open space with amazing angles and light.
Last nights late night bake session turned into chocolate chip walnut banana bread, so delicious! It turned out so well I just had to bring the whole loaf to share with my creative department. It was enjoyed by all. Make sure to spread the love today :)
I was reminiscing on some of the amazing experience I had while abroad in Florence, Italy and I felt myself fizzing with excitement just thinking about all the things I would like to accomplish this year! I have made quite the 2015 to-do list, lets get it done! Above are some shots of my experience abroad when I was in the center of Florence and Venice. What I wouldn't give to be floating down the beautiful Venetian canals in a gondola and gelato.
I was able to celebrate the new year in Los Angeles visiting a friend of mine! Such a beautiful opportunity, filled with relaxation, good eats and great sight seeing. Maybe its the weather, but the west coast is oozing the most friendly people! Here are some pictures I was able to snap around Venice Beach, The Getty Museum, LAX and Malibu.
Today I am thankful for my family and their endless love, for friends and the times we share, and every blessed memory I have been able to collect up to this point due to the amazing opportunities live has given me.
Me and Dave, a fellow graphic designer, got together at Filter Cafe in Wicker park to get some work done. The cafe itself was like a huge living room with comfy couches, armchairs, tables, and free wifi! A designers dream.
Alt-J played at a neat little venue in Uptown at the beginning of November, the show was amazing! The bandmates themselves are a bit introverted, but their performance was unforgettable. The picture I snapped above makes me want to capture all the different signage Chicago has to offer.
I've recently started teaching art classes at a local park district! My class is called Design In Nature, and it highlights all the magnificent and beautiful design present outdoors. From the cool textures of fall leaves to the unique form of every snowflake, my class emphasizes all the wonderful colors, shapes and patterns that occur in the wild with each passing season.
We have made tissue paper flowers, bubble wrap bee hives, construction paper snowflakes, etc. I get a kick out of the little guys and gals in my class, they are so clever! And hilarious to talk to. Looking forward to this class every week is just another way I tend after my own soul.
